The Color Purple

Summary: The color purple was based on the life of a girl name Celie, she was a 14-year old that was molested by her father and was treated poorly by him. She gave birth to her child and her father took the baby away from her and she was sworn to secrecy not to tell no one about the baby. Her father marry off Celie to a man called"Minister", he was no better than her father. She was more of a slave for him. She cook and clean and took care of his kids prior to their marriage. Celie was beaten the entire time being married to Minister. She would always take it upon her self and became very spiritual. With that happening she manage to get the strenght and find her long lost children and her sister that was taking away from her years prior.

Relation : The Color Purple can be related to Chapter 14 Social psychology. Celie had to endure years of abuse from the men in her life. She was very obedient towards her husband and father because of all of the mental and verbal abuse.
